Australian Law Librarian Journal

The Australian Law Librarian is the official journal of the Association. Published quarterly, it contains articles of interest to those working within the field of legal librarianship and the legal information service sector. It also provides a vehicle for information sharing amongst divisions of the ALLA and serves as a forum for discussion of issues related to legal publishing.

The Australian Law Librarian sponsors:

From volume 30 (2022), the Australian Law Librarian will be open access, online journal. 

The Journal is accessible on the Informit platform: https://search.informit.org/journal/auslawlib


All issues of the Journal (from volume 1 1993) will be available in full text on this platform.

The Journal is also available on the Law Journal Library on HeinOnline (1993 - current) (subscription required) and AustLII (1993 – 2001) (open access).


HeinOnline also holds the Australian Law Librarians' Group Newsletter (1973 – 1992), the precursor to the Australian Law Librarian.
